Preparing for Our Next Chapter

As I move towards this long-awaited and exciting new phase, I’m currently in a transitional period. Right now, I’m juggling parental leave and working part-time. My final day at my current job is at the end of this month. Then, a summer vacation with my husband and three children awaits, before I get to start full working full-time in my studio.

Despite this busy schedule, I’ve been dedicating significant time to laying the groundwork for our upcoming projects. I wanted to start as soon as possible because my three-year-old son is behind on his milestones and really could’ve used this app. During this preparation phase, I’ve been planning the project, prototyping, and experimenting with game art. I’ve also designed the workflows for generating content, such as animations, sound, and images.

I originally planned to sculpt the tutor character myself using the MetaHuman creator. However, the results were not what I had envisioned. Realizing that time is money and aiming for quality, I decided to hire a freelancer for this task.

I found a freelancer who is both an experienced 3D modeler and proficient in Unreal Engine MetaHumans. After discussing with the freelancer, we concluded that although MetaHuman generates realistic humans, they could also create a stylized character with the same capabilities.

Consulting with our Creative Director, my husband, we achieved concept art results we are really happy with. Here’s a first look at the character that will act as the first tutor. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the final 3D model will be just as impressive!
